Gene Simmons to perform in Peru with ‘Titans of Rock’

Lima, Feb. 09 (ANDINA). Gene Simmons, bassist of legendary rock band Kiss, will reportedly perform in Peru on April 19 with his new band called 'Titans of Rock.'
According to website DeuceNews.com, Simmons’ new band will kick off a seven-country Latin American tour at Estadio Monumental in Lima.

The 'Titans of Rock' includes Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses), Joe Elliot (Def Leppard), Gilby Clark (Guns N’ Roses), Ed Roland (Collective Soul), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Matt Sorum (Guns N’ Roses), Jason Newsted (Metallica), Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) and Vince Neil (Mötley Crüe).

Gene Simmons and his band will visit Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, Costa Rica and Guatemala.

In 2009, Simmons and Kiss offered a powerful and energetic concert to some 30,000 people who packed the Estadio Nacional in Lima, Peru.

Also Glenn würde ich schon noch ganz gerne mal wieder sehen, am besten in einem ganz kleinen Club, das wäre genial.

Die Amis nölen auch schon rum. Was sie in der Presse alles lesen, wo Glenn spielt, nur eben nicht in USA. Die Kosten für Tourneen, allein schon wegen der Entfernungen, sind so extrem hoch, dass es sich einfach nicht rentiert. Und größere Hallen kriegt Glenn einfach nicht mehr voll. Das hat man im letzten Jahr mit BCC gesehen, wo sie vor allerhöchstens 1500 Leuten gespielt haben. Geld haben sie damit bestimmt nicht verdient.

Er hat schon verlauten lassen, dass er im November weitere Konzerte in Russland geben wird. Vielleicht schaut er ja auch bei uns vorbei.

Glenn ist kurzfristig wieder gen Osten gedüst, diesmal in die Ukraine nach Kiev.

Am 29.3. ist er bei der Charity Gala der Klitschko Brothers Foundation aufgetreten.

Am 30.3. war er Überraschungsgast im Oktyabrsky Palace und hat ein acoustic set gespielt (angekündigt waren eigentlich nur Slade und Suzie Quatro).

Die Tour der RNR Allstars durch Mittel- und Südamerika ist wohl ein mittelprächtiges Desaster. Bis jetzt haben nur die gigs in Paraguay und Argentinien stattgefunden. Bis auf Peru wurden alle anderen Konzerte abgesagt.

The Rock-N-Roll Allstars tour of South and Central America appears to be in serious trouble, with all future performances bar one being cancelled.

The Rock-N-Roll Allstars – the much-hyped supergroup featuring past and present members of Kiss, Guns N’ Roses, Def Leppard, Skid Row, Deep Purple, The Cult, Billy Idol and Alice In Chains – now have just a single show remaining on their itinerary: in Lima, Peru on April 27.

The band were originally booked to play 11 gigs. They have done just two so far: in Paraguay and Argentina.

Advertised performances in Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia and Venzuela have been mysteriously deleted from the Allstars’ website.

The band previously decided to pull their April 21 show in Brazil. They issued the following statement:

“We are in South America and are ready to rock, but the circumstances are beyond our control. We were informed before flying to Brazil today that many other artists have pulled out of the event [the Metal Open Air Festival] as well as local security. We are very concerned for the safety of the fans and artists whom are already at the festival.

“We are receiving confirmed reports from other bands and friends on the ground that the event is dangerous and a disaster. Please be safe, and we look forward to rocking for you in the future.”

Es sieht jedenfalls sehr nach pro-shot aus.

Wie Glenn da auf der Bühne liegt und sich 'Burn' aus der Kehle singt und schreit - das ist einfach gigantisch! Das ist besser als 1975, als ich ihn mit Purple gesehe habe!

Zeigt mal wieder bestens, wie locker er Coverdale in die Tasche stecken kann und auch Gillan hatte mit 60 nicht mehr die stimmlichen Qualitäten.

Also, das finde ich eine tolle Idee. Ein Festival mit guter Musik, wo man sich durchfuttern kann und es gepflegte Getränke gibt.
Mal etwas anderes als die üblichen Brezeln, Pizzazungen und Crepes, die es sonst bei Konzerten gibt!
